Genes. Always curious. I have 2 awesome boys who are tall, handsome, smart and beat me in basketball regularly. Joshua, my highschool senior (WOW! Can I be that old!!!) looks like a clone of my husband. Gregory, my almost 14 year old, can really sing and act. Like my husband. I, on the other hand, am tone deaf, as in I should mouth Happy Birthday if in a crowded room. It’s not pretty.
So…what genes hail from my pool? Not the basketball skills. I get an A for enthusiasm, but that’s where it ends. Eye color…perhaps. Come on…there has to be more. Maybe it’s their half-glass full approach to life. I’ve got that in spades. Like I’m a ‘pre-published’ author (my agent Susan likes that one), as opposed to an unpublished writer. Always the optimist.
So onto summer. Chime in. What’s up? For me…Hanging with my boys (all 3). Reading. Writing. Gardening. Camping (a first timer – I’ll let you kow how that goes!). Family.
Book tip: Just finished Rules by Cynthia Lord and loved it!!! It reminded me of my story Finding Perfect. Digging deep into characters whose journeys are ‘complicated’ as Catherine from Rules might say.
